This is the best time to talk about exercising, because most of us blame the situation to not take the initiative to get up and go for a run or exercise!
Being a professional & classical dancer, since a very early age of my life it was mandatory for me to have a healthy and flexible body. As experts say, Yoga works like magic to prepare your body to elevate it to the next level of performing arts! Perhaps, I thought it was time to share what I found amazing!
So here is the answer to all your problems – Surya namaskar, an indoor yoga regime, more of a miracle workout, which has the magic to cure any problem you may have or can think of, like – diabetes, weight gain, obesity, acidity, headaches, backaches and many more!
For me, its the best cure I have found in my life for all my health or physical problems. Thanks to my daddy for teaching me this fabulous thing when I was just 4 years old, despite being irregular with my practice, it never disappoints me with its magic!
All you need is a small area – 6ft X 4ft minimum, a yoga mat or carpet, comfortable work out clothes so that you can move & bend easily, A time slot of minimum 15 mins on a stomach that has been empty for at least 2 hours.
Now, initially you will have to go slow and steady with each step of the Surya namaskar.
The best way is to hold each step for 5 seconds each, trust me after 3 rounds you will be sweating profusely, which is a great sign! If you begin with left leg to go down the 6 steps you can use the right leg to come up in the next 6 steps. In the first week in about 15 mins you can do almost 6-8 rounds. Its best to increase the number of rounds by 3 each week. I know of people who are able to do 108 in a go, and they have the best bodies, skin, hair and health I have ever seen! So that is what you should aim to do yourself, because this is like gifting yourself a brand new body!

Yes I am not regular on Surya Namaskar, but from child hood I have been told it is the best way to wind up a yoga and or exercise regimen.
If you take Surya as the primary energy source to earth than a Divine energy, the yoga definitely does a lot of beneficial effects. Most non-Hindus may find the worship of the Sun a bit unrealistic but sure can use the logic of the primary energy source to most advantage.
The yoga pose itself has considerable benefits!

Have known people who claim doing it fast as the correct way, i dont agree…. i feel that doing it smoothly at a comfortable pace properly stretching each part of the affected body is most beneficial rather than the number of sets that one can do…one should try and do it till one is tired which is a body indicator by itself..

The differentiation between Yoga and Fast Workouts is really the speed of the workout.
Yoga essentially is a slow and harmonic exercise regimen that brings together the body, mind and spirit and targets the whole human being.
Fast Workouts largely are fat burning exercises, strengthening the muscles and increasing cardio-vascular rates to 140beats/min and above.
The best results in Yoga are achieved by slow and languid movements-hatha yoga style normally recommended at the end of the day for winding down.
Power Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga is more in the style of Fast Workouts and essentially for fitness regimen and more athletic.some cardio goes into it too. Anusara yoga a more cardio-focussed yogic exercise.
Surya Namaskar is definitely a winding down yoga pose in any exercise regimen.
